Mile Square Theatre strives to make its performances, digital content, and facilities accessible to all of our patrons and visitors. For additional information or if you have questions, need assistance, or an accommodation not mentioned below, please contact us at 201.683.7014 or boxoffice@milesquaretheatre.org.
Select digital content has audio descriptions. Shows with audio descriptions available will be indicated on the show page and on marketing materials. Tickets to audio described content can be found on our website when available. We do not currently have audio described in-person performances.
Large Print Playbills are available at all main stage performances. Large print programs may be obtained from the house manager or usher upon entering the theater of the performance you are attending.
Select digital content has closed captioning. Shows with captions available will be indicated on the show page and on marketing materials. Tickets to captioned content can be found on our website. More captioned content coming soon!
Assistive listening devices (ALDs) amplify and clarify sound by cutting down or eliminating ambient noise. ALDs will be made available upon request with one weeks notice through our partnership with the New Jersey Theatre Alliance. To request an assistive listening device, contact us at boxoffice@milesquaretheatre.org
Entrances to the building and theater are accessible. A wheelchair accessible path to the theatre’s seating area briefly goes through our backstage area. For safety, our front of house staff will escort you to your seat through this entrance.
The entire front row of the theatre is wheelchair- and scooter- accessible. All seats can be removed so the patron can remain in their wheelchair or they can transfer from their wheelchairs to a theatre seat if desired. Accessible seating can be purchased online. For personal assistance selecting accessible seats or for more information about the accessibility features of our space, please call us at 201.683.7014 or email us at boxoffice@milesquaretheatre.org.
All public restrooms are wheelchair accessible.
Our annual holiday show and young audience show include one relaxed performance with modifications to accommodate those with sensory sensitivities and other needs. This performance is less formal and is supportive of those with sensory, communication, and learning needs. At no point will anyone be asked to leave due to sound, movement, or differing cognitive/developmental abilities. Audience members are welcome to step out and re-enter the theatre as needed. We also lower the show’s sound levels and leave the house lights on low so the audience is never in the dark. For any questions regarding our sensory sensitive performances, please contact us at boxoffice@milesquaretheatre.org
